    Jibberish and Holy Busy

Even if you don't recognize this song, you'll most definitely know his song "satisfaction."  If you go to SeekASong and search Benny Benassi under "artists", "Satisfaction" will be there.  Not a terribly great song, but very well-known nonetheless.  Benny Benassi was one of the DJs at the awesome music fest Lauren, James, and I went to.  In order of performance awesomeness there was Tiesto, Deep Dish, Junkie XL. Benny Benassi, Bad Boy Bill, and Dave Clarke.  Junkie XL got a lot of bonus points from me because he was a really good entertainer...he pumped the crowd up and you could tell he was having fun.  Bad Boy Bill is a House hero in the Chicago area, and he definitely rekindled my liking for House music.

Recently it seems that Lauren and I have been all about music in our free time.  Free time that has dwindled, by the way, merely a few mins a day.

Well yea know what, I take that back...last week Lauren was all about music in her free time, but now whenever we have a few mins alone with each other --- it's "planning" time :)  She's so excited about the little details.  I'm excited to be a part of it; I love seeing her happy.

FYI, I think my brain has had it this week - so I'm going to continue type-talking very choppily.

Deep Dish is coming out with a new album in either early October or early November.  Should be awesome.  John Mayer is also coming out with a new album in the next few weeks.  Deep Dish, by the way, played an awesome song at the show last weekend that I found on there myspace site. Here deepdish.  The song should automatically start up, but in any case, click the song called "(PATT) Party All The Time."  It's funny...when I first heard this song, i wondered where they got the lyrics from.  Lo and behold, I found out, but I wish I hadn't found out lol.  The lyrics and actually voice from the song Deep Dish plays is from.....ready?....1984.....originally sung by......ready?....this is even worse... Rick James and..................................EDDIE MURPHY.  Here's the original video on youtube.  I know, it's rediculous....but what pisses me off is that I like the Deep Dish song a lot....eventhough it's freakin Eddie Murphy's voice.

    *sigh*...that still annoys me lol.

So recently at work (I'm not sure if I've posted about it) I got a promotion/raise.  Now I'm a primary sorter.  So when the boxes get unloaded off the trucks...all of the 200ish trucks with about 1000 packages in each....they all go onto a huge conveyor belt and come to us sorters.  There are a couple hundred sorters standing all in a row and take the boxes off the conveyor belt and sort them into each of the 15 different belts according to where their destination is....then they go to the people who actually load them onto the next set of trucks.  The physical labor-part of the job is a bit easier than being a loader, but the pace is much faster.  Last night I was clocked at about 1200 packages per hour...I think that's one every three seconds.  If that doesn't sound too bad....I do it for 5 hours with only a 10min break--and the average box weighs 35lbs...and I'm responsible for sorting ones up to 70lbs by myself.  Again....not a big deal, unless you're doing it all night.  Well the reason I'm bitching about work is because last night my supervisor dropped 60lb muffler on the back of my leg--on my calf.  He went to put it on a belt above our head and the bottom of the box ripped open....Muffler on my leg.  Nothing too serious, actually.  Just a scrape because it hit it at a good angle.  but it flippin was stinging all night.  More than anything is that is pissed me off.  Come to think of it, last night sucked period.  We're supposed to have one sorter for every unloader in the trailers.  Well last night between me and the 3 trailers surrounding me there were 10 unloaders (3 to two trucks and 4 to one truck) and only 3 sorters...made work real poopy for about an hour.

Sheesh our apartment is A  M E S S !!!  Let me go around the apt...couch...textbooks and empty cranberry juice container (my fault).  Coffee table--Cactus cup, subway bag, and school stuff.  Kitchen table -- subway stuff, school stuff, wedding planning stuff.  kitchen ----dirty!  bedroom ---dirty!  bathroom ---dirty!   Most of it is probably more of my fault, so I'm not by any means dropping you a hint or anything, mommabear -- just saying.  We need to clean this weekend.  I imagine we'll do it tomorrow.

We're getting professional engagement pictures taken on Tuesday morning next week.  At first I wished we would've waited, but now I'm getting excited...OMG! did you hear that, Lauren, I am!

School is awesome - anyone who says otherwise is a der-der.  If anyone would rather go to work than go to school...(besides the money part)...you either the best job in the world OR.....? I can't think of it.  Maybe I just love learning.  Speaking of which... Math Club is today!  I think it's every 3rd Friday..ask Lauren for details, she's the club President.  ok...so when you're finished making fun of Lauren just remember how "cool" I am AND I'm in the math club too!  I go because I love beating most of the other people in the puzzles...especially because I'm not a math major

Ok I just looked and Deep Dish's new album (Live in Dubai) comes out Oct. 3.  :)

I'm so hungry.  We need to go shopping SO bad!  I think it's been a month?  At Least 3 weeks.  We literally have NOTHING in the fridge besides our brita water filter, old pizza, and condiments. Horrible.  We'll do that tomorrow or Sunday I guess :-\.  I hate spending money.

Fantasy football has officially begun! (as of last night).  So far in the pickem league, I'm the ONLY one that thought the Dolphins were gonna win...fooey on me.

Aww shucks, I guess that's enough for one day.  Love you Lauren :-* Miss you.

Few and far between-----"whateva-whateva, I do what I want"

So it's only 3 hours before we get on a plane for FL.  I haven't slept yet, I figured it'd be better to NOT sleep for 3 hours instead of sleeping.  Some good things happened at work tonight :)  I passed the test/got promoted to a sorter.  $1.00/hr raise !Cool beans.  Not only that, but now I will work a bit less (awesome) and the work isn''t as physically grueling.  So I passed the sorter test tonight.  The test is on a computer and 330 different package labels comes up and you have to tell which belt they go to by reading the zip code.  So I had/have to memorize where EVERY zip code goes in the hub by color.  It can either be green, red, blue, white, black, silver, gold, purple, aqua, gray, yellow, orange, pink, brown, or tan.  So now after the trucks get unloaded I take the packages off of a huge conveyor belt and sort it to whichever (color) belt it belongs too.  It's pretty cool.  Like I said, the conditions are much better than in the outbound (loading) work.  So the really good news is that while I was working tonight (my 1st night as a sorter) my sort-trainer, Kelly, came to me and asked if I was interested in becoming a Training Supervisor...because "[I] have been doing such a good job."  I told her I'd be interested as long as the hours aren't too much more.  So they're gonna keep their eyes open for a spot for me :).  Wow- -not to brag, but at UPS for less than 30 working days and TWO promotions are visible....awesome.

I was going to try and do this sweet sweet thing for Lauren for this weekend.  After working at it for a good 1.5hrs I realized it sucked and was stupid.  So, it's back to the drawing board.  Regardless, we will both be ENGAGED the next time you see either of us!!! I'm so anxious/nervous/excited about it!  oooo I can hardly believe the time has come! :)  WOOOO -

i have to go wake up Lauren because apparently she needs "45mins" to get ready this morning....I haven't packed yet.  I'll do that while she's getting ready.

I'm gonna miss Rudy, I love you, Lauren, and Madden 07 is the balls

Don't stay in neutral...put it in gear and go.

I used to feel like I was constantly stepping forward, but actually moving backwards.  Kind of like that effect the cameras use in movies...where they're zooming in, but moving farther away.  One disappointment after another.  Two triumphs followed by four or five or six failures.  That was my life.  The problem was I was never actually heading in a direction - I was never going anywhere...  Instead of trying to get from point A (where I was) to point B (where I wanted to be) I was detouring and going in circles every chance I got.  After years of circumventing obstacles instead of hurdling them, I met a person who changed me.  There were some significant changes, but most of them were tiny, invisible alterations of my insides.  I was never proud of myself...and I never realized that I wasn't  proud of myself.  That was the worst part; I didn't know.  I didn't know that everything I was doing was pushing me backwards.  I didn't know that I was incapacitating myself all those years.
That person, as you may have guessed, was/is Lauren.   She made me see  (without even trying to) that the road I was taking was always under construction and always stricken with detours.  She showed me the (without sounding like cheese) highway of life.  She showed me, through example, exactly how to get there, how fast to go, and even how to use my "dinkers" ;).  We are currently driving together down that road, where ever it takes us, hand in hand.
Lauren, my angel, saved my life.  She saved me from a life of skimming by on "just good enough to get by."  She made me realize my full potential. She showed me how important it is to move forward in life, constantly.  We fit together like a perfect 2-piece puzzle.  I owe it to her/us to give us both ALL that I've got.  When we're married...with children - I will still remember how she saved me; how she showed me how to save myself.  I love you, baby.  I always will.
